Nobody heard him, the dead man,
but still he lay moaning:
I was much further out than you thought
And not waving but drowning.
沒人聽見
那個死去的人
但他仍在呢喃
我比你想像的要糟糕得多
這絕非在揮手,而是溺水在求救

Poor chap, he always loved larking, and now...
he's dead
It must have been too cold for him his heart gave way,
they said.
可憐的小子
他總是喜歡胡鬧,而現在…
他真的死了
他們說,他肯定太冷了
所以心跳停止

Oh, no no no, it was too cold always
Still, the dead one lay moaning
I was much too far out all my life
And not waving but drowning.
哦,不…水一向都是這麼冷
死去的人仍舊在呢喃
我這一生實在是離岸邊太遠
以至於求救時,像是在揮手
